Commercial spaces

We’re not taking commercial spaces this season. We are talking with a small number of Portland spaces about next year, and if a lobby or a dining room is your problem to solve, now is a reasonable time to start.

A lobby is not three apartment trees standing next to each other. It’s a twenty-foot ceiling, a revolving door, a stone floor that shows every mark, a security desk that has to keep working, and everybody in the building walking past the same corner twice a day. It’s a different scale, a different schedule, and a conversation before it’s anything else. That’s why there’s no price on this page.

What we’d want to know: what the space is, roughly how big, and whether anyone has done it before. That’s it. Everything else is easier said out loud, and there’s no hurry — decisions for next December get made in the spring.

Tell us about the space

Steven reads these himself and writes back within two working days.

And if next year turns out not to be the year, that’s a fine answer too.
